Health Information Management; HIM Technician

Position: Health Information Management (HIM) Technician
Sanford Health - 8100 Medicine Lake Rd - Responsibilities:
Assist with processing medical records, answers the center phone calls, data entry, transcribing physician orders, copying, scanning/indexing, printing and faxing documents;
Assists the nursing department on a busy 33 bed Post-Acute unit with paperwork and telephone calls associated with admissions, transfers or discharges in addition to scheduling appointments and transportation;
Assists HIM department with running reports, audits, ICD 10 coding and other assigned duties;
Assigns codes to appropriate medical diagnoses based on review of supporting documentation, and ensures these are captured for timely and accurate billing for all payers;
Maintain application of facility policies and standards of practice to assure release of information requests (ROI) are appropriate and meet legal regulations
