We’re seeking an experienced Word Press developer to help with a 3-6 month interim engagement. This project includes a website revision built on Word Press, and while wire framing is already complete, we need an experienced consultant who can help bring clarity and structure to the next phase. This engagement is ideal for someone who has performed a new Word Press conversion before and can quickly assess the current scope, identify unknowns, and provide a clear recommendation on project timeline, effort, and implementation approach.
This is not a one-and-done build — targeting a flexible Word Press foundation that internal teams can manage confidently and evolve over time.
Note:
Candidates must be local to the Minneapolis–St. Paul area, as the project will include in-person working sessions to collaborate, align, and keep momentum strong.
- Mostly remote; occasional onsite meeting requirements in the Twin Cities, as needed
- $50-65/hr pay rate
- 3-6 month interim project engagement

Roles & Responsibilities- Review existing website requirements, completed wireframes, and current project documentation
- Conduct an initial assessment to clarify scope, open items, risks, and assumptions
- Provide recommendations on project duration, implementation phases, and overall build approach
- Build (or guide the build of) a modular, block-based Word Press architecture designed for long-term internal editing
- Develop clean, scalable components that support intuitive UX and clear user journeys
- Implement custom functionality as needed (integrations, configurators, forms, or other interactive components)
- Ensure performance, maintainability, and ease-of-use for non-technical internal stakeholders post-launch
- Deliver well-structured, well-documented work to support smooth handoff and internal ownership
- Strong professional experience building Word Press websites end-to-end
- Expertise in modular / component-based Word Press builds (block-based architecture for easy internal updates)
- Proven ability to scope ambiguous projects and translate “murky” requirements into clear deliverables
- Experience supporting or leading site rebuilds and CMS migrations (Hub Spot experience highly preferred)
- Strong understanding of UX principles and how to build sites that balance flexibility, clarity, and performance
- Ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally
- Clean development practices, strong documentation habits, and a long-term mindset for site maintainability
