Role Description The Automation Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in New Hope, MN. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated production equipment, including robotics and control systems. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues, and making timely repairs to minimize downtime. The Automation Technician will be responsible for taking calls on the production floor and troubleshooting/solving issues, along with assisting with equipment upgrades, support continuous improvement initiatives, and work closely with production and engineering teams to optimize system performance and ensure safe, efficient operations.
Documentation of maintenance activities, adherence to safety protocols, and clear communication with supervisors and peers are integral parts of the role.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform effective Troubleshooting of automation, electrical, and mechanical issues.
- Experience working with Robotics and automated machinery in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Solid understanding of Electricity, including reading electrical schematics and working with control panels.
- Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance practices for production equipment and automation systems.
- Hands‑on experience with Automation systems, PLCs, sensors, and control devices.
- Vocational training, technical certification, or associate degree in electronics, industrial automation, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
- Strong safety focus and familiarity with lockout/tagout and other industrial safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and communicate clearly with cross‑functional teams.
- Willingness to work on‑site in New Hope, MN and support flexible hours or shifts as needed for production demands.
