Salary: $44,405.00 - $60,182.54

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties of the Welding Instructor include, but are not limited to:

* Teach lecture and laboratory courses in welding technology, including but not limited to SMAW, GMA W, GTA W, and FCAW

* Instruct students in proper welding techniques, equipment use, and safety practices

* Develop, update, and maintain course syllabi, lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments

* Follow college approved course syllabi for each area of instruction

* Evaluate student performance through practical exams, written tests, and skill demonstrations

* Administer NCCER written and performance exams following established policies and procedures

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date student training records in accordance with NCCER accreditation requirements

* Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

* Maintain welding lab equipment, tools, and consumables

* Maintain accurate student records in a computerized learning management system, attendance, grades, and assessment data

* Advise and support students in academic and career pathways

* Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies

* Support college initiatives such as recruitment, advisory committees, and community outreach

Required Qualifications:

* A Baccalaureate degree in the discipline and at least two (2) years of directly related occupational experience, OR

* An associate degree in the discipline and three (3) years of occupational experience and skill in the teaching discipline with verifiable academic credentials, qualifications, or competencies appropriate for teaching the course content*, OR

* A relevant diploma or certificate in the discipline and four (
4) years of occupational experience and skill in the teaching discipline with verifiable academic credentials, qualifications, or competencies appropriate for teaching the course content *, OR

* At least five (5) years of occupational experience and skill in the teaching discipline with verifiable qualifications or competencies appropriate for teaching the course content*.

* Academic coursework, work experience, licenses, certifications, credentials, competencies, or other experiences appropriate for teaching the course content must be documented and justified.

Faculty must additionally demonstrate steady progress to attain an associate degree to be considered for continued employment. Steady progress is defined as the successful completion of at least one college course per semester, including the summer, or nine credits per academic year.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Teaching experience in secondary or post-secondary education is preferred.

* NCCER Craft Instructor Certification

* AWS certified as Certified Welding Educator Program (CWE)
