Mercedes Benz Van Development Opportunity
The Mercedes-Benz VAN of the future – take the opportunity to work directly in the development in the business field of Mercedes Benz VAN!
In VAN development, we are currently designing the new vehicle architectures VAN.EA-P (private use) and Transporter VAN.EA-C (commercial use) of the future. It is the basis for all future medium and large vans, both for commercially used premium all-rounders and for privately used luxury vans. The platform is 100% electric.
The Center VAN/EF "Development Functions & Sustainability" is responsible within VAN/E for the test planning and procurement logistics up to the assembly of prototypes, the test methodology vehicle durability on overall vehicle level including their operational implementation and for product liability, documentation and sustainability. This covers the entire VAN product range from conventional to electrically driven vehicles. The VAN/EFD department is responsible in the center for the vehicle durability (methodology, planning and operational implementation), the operational durability and the certification management.
We in the Erprobungsmethodik Dauerlauf team are responsible for the test methodology, the duration run specification, the allocation – and test management, the accompaniment of our projects (ICE & BEV), the selection of suitable test vehicles (vehicle management), the reporting and other challenges that lead to a high degree of maturity (quality) of our products. At the end we give an E-release for the work package vehicle durability.
The result is characterized by good cooperation with our partners and interfaces within the VAN & RD organization.
Then you are the right candidate!
Specifically this means:
The aim of the work is the conception and implementation of a supported visual representation for the vehicle durability test. Through the use of MB.OS and its interfaces, relevant test contents should be visualized context-sensitively on the vehicle display. Thus, the driver during the test drive is supported and relieved by clear, situation-dependent information. The work examines how such an integration can enable a more efficient, more reproducible and higher quality durability test.
- Creating a requirement specification from the vehicle durability point of view
- Defining and describing the interfaces
- Providing GPX data of the required durability test routes
- Providing data for test programs
- Coordinating the implementation in collaboration with MB-Cars and VANs
The activity can start in September 2026.
The final topic determination will be made in consultation with the university, you and us.
