Research And Development In Laser Technology And Cell Technique
In the background of increasing requirements for the use of joining technology in the electric powertrain, laser material processing shows great application potential.
In the Laser Technology and Cell Technique team in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim, we develop and qualify new laser processing procedures for applications in battery cells and modules, e-motors, and transmissions. In our own application laboratory, new ideas and system technology components are tested and further developed in a practical environment.
These challenges await you:
- Training in the state of the art (including literature research) and plant technology
- Independently conducting laser welding experiments
- Evaluation, interpretation, and presentation of experimental and measurement data
- Material-technical investigations in the metallography laboratory
- Use of different measurement and analysis techniques
- Conception, construction, and realization of experimental and test setups
- Experimental validation of new approaches and ideas
The internship can start from July/August 2026.
Qualifications:
- Study in the field of mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, physics, physical engineering, aerospace engineering, optics or laser technology, materials engineering, or a comparable course of study
- Secure German and English language skills in speech and writing
