Woodward L'Orange is pioneering modern technology for sustainable solutions: components and systems for the energy conversion systems of the future. This portfolio includes, among other things, injection technology, including advanced common rail technology.

Our products are used in the modern large engines and fuel cells of ships, power plants, railways, and other applications.

We are looking for students (m/w/d) to carry out a final thesis (Bachelor/Master; duration 6 months) for the development of injection nozzles for power-to-x fuels for future injection systems in the area of large engines.

Newly designed and constructed injection nozzles for PTX fuels (methanol, ethanol, ammonia) are to be tested and evaluated hydraulically using design of experiments (DoE) on the test bench. During the validation on the test bench, possible improvements in functionality and longevity should be identified and incorporated into the design. The goal is to create a robust and long-lasting injection nozzle for our customers.

Your tasks:

• Measurement validation of existing power-to-x injection nozzles
• Independently conducting and supervising experiments using design of experiments (DoE), as well as evaluating and assessing the results of experiments
• Constructive and experimental solution finding to improve the functionality of injection systems
• Internal presentation and documentation of results

Your profile:

• Study in the field of mechanical engineering, vehicle technology, or a comparable field
• Interest in injection technology
• Analytical thinking, team skills, and independent work
• Hands-on skills
• Good PC skills
