Housekeeping Floor Technician Iberia, LA

IMC is currently hiring a Housekeeping Floor Technician to join our Environmental Services department, working the 2:00pm to 10:30pm shift
. In this role the candidate must be able to successfully strip and wax floors, with previous experience doing this task preferred.

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
• No previous experience required, but current hospital Housekeeping experience is desired
• 1-3 years of relatable experience preferred
• Job requires the employee to perform tasks and assignments under the supervision of a Floor Supervisor and/or Department Manager. The employee is expected to analyze situations and act within the scope of standard procedures.

• Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.
• Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
• Uses the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Observes safety precautions at all times. Uses safety signs, WET FLOOR, and ropes off sections of floor for cleaning where appropriate.
• Performs all aspects of assigned tasks in a manner that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Knowledgeable of all cleaning chemicals used in surgical suite, ability to dress out appropriately before entering/leaving surgical suite, surgical suites & PACU cleaning and sanitizing, and removal of all surgical waste and refuse (both biohazard and standard).
• Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
• Always introduces self to patients, families and visitors.
