Schedule: Monday–Friday | Afternoon/Evening

Iberia Parish Adult Drug Court is seeking a qualified and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to provide treatment and support to participants involved in Drug Court and Specialty Court programs. The counselor will assist individuals in achieving recovery through evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), group therapy, and individual counseling.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in substance abuse counseling
  • Current licensure or certification as one of the following: LAC, CAC, RAC, CIT, LPC, or PLPC
  • Knowledge of addiction treatment practices and recovery principles
  • Experience working within court-referred or mandated treatment programs preferred
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
  • Conduct risk assessments and screenings for Drug Court referrals
  • Direct, monitor, and facilitate mandatory outpatient treatment services, including:
  • Group sessions
  • Educational sessions
  • Individual counseling sessions
  • Gender-specific groups
  • Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT)
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure participant accountability and monitor program progress
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and complete discharge summaries
  • Document progress notes and track participant phase advancement requirements
  • Maintain accurate participant records, enter data into Reconnect, and complete all required Louisiana Supreme Court Drug and Specialty Court Office forms
  • Provide referrals for additional support services as needed
  • Prepare and submit treatment status reports
  • Attend pre-status conference treatment team meetings and court status hearings
Compensation
  • Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with credentials, licensure level, and professional experience.
