The Human Resources Generalist at Chart Industries provides both strategic and day‑to‑day HR support, serving as a primary point of contact for employees, leaders, and candidates. This role supports plant and office operations through full‑cycle recruiting, employee relations, HR policy administration, training coordination, site communications, and accurate maintenance of employee records.
What Will You Do?- Drive continuous improvement in HR’s strategic value to the business.
- Lead and coordinate training initiatives for managers and employees to ensure understanding of Chart’s Code of Conduct, compliance requirements, positive employee relations, and other company‑wide programs and policies.
- Administer and support employee benefit programs in collaboration with the Centers of Expertise (COE).
- Champion the HR strategy and influence key stakeholders to align with organizational goals.
- Contribute to the successful execution of the HR business plan.
- Support the implementation of Chart’s HR policies and procedures to ensure consistent application and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage full‑cycle recruitment efforts, including partnering with hiring managers to assess staffing needs, posting positions, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and Chart’s Strategic Staffing Model.
- Facilitate Onboarding and conduct New Hire Orientations.
- Investigate and resolve employee relations matters, including harassment, discrimination, and other workplace concerns.
- Participate in discipline and termination processes, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies across the organization.
- Monitor and recommend action plans to ensure compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action (AA) programs, addressing areas of under‑representation.
- Provide coaching and guidance on performance management and employee development.
- Collaborate with leadership to maintain a positive, union‑free work environment in non‑union locations.
- Uphold Chart’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics Standards.
- Ensure all compliance of employee records to meet internal and external customer expectations.
- The ability to predictably and regularly attend work and to be punctual.
- The ability to read and understand documents and drawings.
- The ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and/or coworkers.
- The ability to perform several tasks at once.
- The ability to follow directions or instructions.
- The ability to use a computer to communicate, create, and access information.
- Associate’s Degree in HR or a business‑related discipline.
- 4–6 years relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR or a business‑related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in progressive HR roles (industrial).
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, Internet, and Email.
- Experience with HRIS systems (Success Factors).
- Mathematical skills.
- Knowledge of legislation affecting HR.
