Our department Market Intelligence & Geoeconomics is the competence center for global economic developments and automotive markets of the Mercedes-Benz Group AG.

The team creates economic and automotive market analyses and forecasts as part of regular reporting. These analyses and forecasts are closely integrated into the company's planning processes. In addition, we perform a warning function to recognize early on the changes in the market environment that are relevant for Mercedes-Benz and to derive action recommendations for the top management.

These challenges await you:

• Observation, evaluation, and forecasting of economic developments of the relevant markets for passenger cars and commercial vehicles for the Mercedes-Benz Group
• Creation of regular reports on the economic situation and the development of the global automotive markets
• Company-wide provision of economic information and market reports
• Conducting market forecasts, including the application of econometric forecasting methods
• Creating economic presentations in all business areas of Mercedes-Benz Group as well as for the top management
• Processing of various ad-hoc requests regarding macroeconomic issues and automotive market developments
• Updating and maintaining the cloud-based data infrastructure for automotive market forecasts
• Updating, using, and independently developing dashboards for data visualization and for internal communication of analysis results

The position can start in July 2026.

Qualifications:

• Degree in economics, business studies, data science, business informatics or a comparable qualification
• Secure German and English language skills in speech and writing
• Secure handling of MS Office
• Good knowledge of relevant programming languages for the development of forecasting models (preferably R, Python) is desirable
• Ideally experience in data visualization and dashboard development (e.g. Power BI)
• Knowledge of statistical and econometric applications and forecasting methods is desirable
• Commitment, team capability, analytical mindset, and strategic and careful working method

Please note that your internship at this location must include a mandatory component.

The exact start date will be determined together during the hiring process. The duration of the internship is preferably 5-6 months.
