Job Summary

The purpose of the Pre‑Engineered Manager position is to oversee the pre‑engineered operations throughout the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Grow the organization’s pre‑engineered business through enhancement of operations and sales.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures and protocols for pre‑engineered businesses throughout all offices.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with new and existing customers; increase key sales of pre‑engineered and fire extinguisher business.
  • Focus on enhanced customer service, increased operational efficiencies, enhanced quality assurance and control, and dependable service.
  • Provide oversight of procedures for purchasing and sourcing, scheduling, coordination of work, billing, and collections.
  • Provide oversight of procedures for tools, equipment, and vehicle use.
  • Develop and maintain consistent scheduling procedures.
  • Develop and maintain consistent means of measuring quality and customer service.
  • Oversee training and development of field talent; assist in hiring and sourcing.
  • Develop and maintain safety compliance procedures in accordance with the organization’s Safety Handbook, applicable rules & regulations, and industry standards.
  • Provide input on profitability of pre‑engineered and fire extinguisher business via financial analysis, market conditions, billing rates, costs, trends, etc.
  • Coordinate support sales personnel to grow the pre‑engineered and fire extinguisher business lines.
  • Utilize accounting software (Timberline) for billing, cost tracking, and related tasks.
  • Assist with general marketing activities and promotions of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent (required).
  • 5 years of experience in the Fire Life Safety Industry, specifically with Fire Extinguishers and Pre‑Engineered systems.
  • NICET Certification, Special Hazards Systems (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (required).
  • Ability to travel 90% of the time, locally (required).
  • Comply with SFS’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements.
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
  • 5 years of professional computer skills (Microsoft Suite).
  • 3 years of technical writing and training experience.
Physical &

Work Environment Requirements

Frequent bending, ascending/descending step stools, ladders and stairs, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs, reaching, standing, and walking for extended periods. Occasional balance, crouch, drive, lift over 50 lbs, sit and stoop. Requires color vision, visual acuity, and depth perception. Work may involve being outdoors in hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, and noise. Personal protective equipment is required on-site.
