Staff Accountant

Location: Short Hills

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Short Hills, New Jersey. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the preparation of monthly financial reports. This position offers an opportunity to work on projects that enhance financial processes while collaborating across departments.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accurate balances in compliance with statutory and GAAP standards.

- Prepare detailed monthly financial reports and accounting summaries.

- Review financial documents for accuracy and adherence to established policies and procedures.

- Assist in updating accounting reports and reconciliations following project implementations.

- Analyze and document the impact of financial projects on the company's control environment.

- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting procedures.

- Apply relevant accounting and reporting rules while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Utilize technology to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.

- Collaborate with other departments to support finance-related initiatives and projects. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

- 1-3 years of experience in financial accounting.

- Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures.

- Familiarity with applicable laws, regulations, and compliance standards.

- Proficiency in spreadsheet software, particularly Microsoft Excel.

- Experience with manual or automated accounting systems.

- Strong analytical and organizational skills.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
