Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Warren, New Jersey. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to grow your accounting expertise in a dynamic and detail-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger management.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

- Prepare and file corporate tax returns in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

- Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of sales tax for various transactions.

- Record, review, and adjust journal entries to maintain the accuracy of financial data.

- Manage the general ledger, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and up to date.

- Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial information and resolve discrepancies.

- Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing processes.

- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies.

- Provide support during tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.

- Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.

Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance.

- Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting.

- Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger accounts.

- Familiarity with accounting software and tools.

- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.

- Strong communication skills for collaborating with teams and external auditors.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
