About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our accounting and premium billing operations. This role will involve managing financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate billing for employee benefits and payroll services. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills and experience in benefits or payroll-related environments.
Responsibilities- Support premium administration processes, including premium allocation, reconciliation, and processing of payments
- Maintain accurate and timely accounting records related to premiums and other financial transactions
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare financial statements and reports
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Support audits and tax filings
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
- Assist with billing, accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3 years of accounting experience (public or corporate)
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, or similar) and MS Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- CPA/CMA or working toward certification
- Experience in payroll accounting or working with payroll service providers (e.g., Quick Books, ADP, Paychex)
- Experience with benefits administration and billing systems
