Job SummaryThe Assistant Accountant supports the Controller by processing day‑to‑day accounting transactions, maintaining accurate records, performing reconciliations, and assisting with audit and compliance documentation. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting through detailed, organized work and strong follow‑through.
Key Responsibilities- Transaction Processing
:
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including processing invoices, employee reimbursements, and issuing payments to vendors. - Reconciliation
:
Perform daily or monthly reconciliations of bank statements, credit cards, and general ledger accounts. - Audit & Compliance
:
Compile documentation for internal/external audits.
- Technical Skills
:
Proficiency in accounting software (such as Quick Books) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. - Accounting Knowledge
:
Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). - Soft Skills
- Close attention to detail and the ability to identify numerical discrepancies.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills to meet strict reporting deadlines.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential financial data with integrity.
- Hours:
8-5 - Compensation range: $60,000–$70,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with a match, in accordance with company policy.
- PTO:
Year 1‑2 – 10 days;
Year 3 – 15 days; all Legal & Jewish holidays off.
