Rate:

$140k - $145k

Position Overview:

The Senior Property Accountant will join a highly experienced accounting team and take ownership of the financial operations for a portfolio of commercial and industrial properties. This role offers a strong balance of autonomy and collaboration, making it ideal for someone who enjoys managing the full accounting lifecycle while contributing to a stable, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities

of the Senior Property Accountant:
  • Manage full-cycle property accounting for a portfolio of commercial and industrial assets.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including variance analysis.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including tenant billing and collections.
  • Interpret and apply commercial lease terms, including rent escalations and CAM reconciliations.
  • Perform account reconciliations and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Support audit and tax processes through preparation of schedules and documentation.
  • Partner with the Property Management and Operations teams to provide financial insights.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Property Accountant:
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial real estate or property accounting.
  • Strong understanding of real estate financial transactions and lease structures.
  • Experience with real estate accounting systems such as Yardi, MRI, or Oracle.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working in a stable, low-turnover, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Experience /Skills for the Senior Property Accountant:
  • Background working with commercial and/or industrial real estate portfolios.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
