The Project Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial management of assigned projects, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, revenue recognition, and financial reporting. This role works closely with project managers and leadership to monitor project performance, maintain compliance with financial policies, and support the successful delivery of projects within budget. Client Details My client is a growing construction company specializing in commercial and residential projects throughout the region.

Description Monitor the financial performance of assigned projects from inception to completion. Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial projections. Review project costs and analyze budget-to-actual variances. Process and track project-related invoices, payments, and revenue.

Assist with month-end and year-end close activities related to projects. Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with company policies and accounting standards. Reconcile project accounts and investigate discrepancies. Prepare financial reports for project managers and senior leadership. Work closely with operations and project teams to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. Support audits by providing requested documentation and analysis. Monitor contract terms and project funding requirements.

Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency. Profile Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably with project accounting exposure. Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., Deltek, SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Fund EZ, or similar). Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
