Staff Accountant for Non-Profit in New Jersey

My client, a non for profit located in Caldwell, New Jersey is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their firm. The firm has been in existence since the 1930’s and offers significant opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

• Review and analyze budget, identifying budget issues and providing solutions.
• Assist with month, quarter and year end closing responsibilities including journal entries and reconcilaitions
• Monthly reconciliations
• Act as backup for Accounts Payable
• Projecting financial trends including annual forecasts
• Assist with preparation of operating and salary budget
• Monitoring of annual grants and transactions in compliance with fund requirements
• Maintain accounting records for endowment and restricted and unrestricted funds
• Assist with audit preparation

Experience Preferred for the Staff Accountant

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance a plus
• Non-profit experience a plus
• Experience with Jenzabar major plus
• Excellent communication skills & attention to detail
