Job Summary

We are a local business in Hunterdon County seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our repair shop team. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive service and repair, with a strong focus on vehicle maintenance and diagnostics. This role requires proficiency in using hand tools and working with various automotive systems, including electrical systems and powertrains. The applicant must be skilled in communicating with customers, able to clearly and concisely explain vehicle issues, and provide valuable advice.

• Diagnose and repair vehicles that come into the shop.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, oil changes, and brake pad replacements.
• Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections of all systems, including the engine, transmission, and brakes.
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction to encourage repeat business.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred.
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification or Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) certification is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Knowledge of diesel engines is a plus.
• Must have own tools.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
