Position Summary

Lead Technician – responsible for diagnosing drivability and electrical systems while mentoring a team to achieve higher customer satisfaction. This position offers a flat‑rate, performance‑based compensation model with a pay range of $26.51 to $51.66 per hour and a sign‑on bonus for first‑time hires.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle systems to specifications, including brakes, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
  • Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to non‑mechanical customers.
  • Stay current with automotive technology through continuous paid formal training.
  • Assist and train technicians in performing technical activities.
  • Obtain or maintain ASE certifications in at least five of the ASE categories A1–A8 within the first two years of employment; the company covers all exam fees.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid automobile driver’s license and the ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
  • Skilled in brakes diagnosis/repair, alignment, steering & suspension diagnosis/repair, and general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
  • Current federal, state and local certifications/licenses as required.
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical information to non‑technical people.
  • Reading, writing and basic math proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of electrical/electronic systems, engine repair, engine performance, automatic transmission/transaxle or manual drivetrain/transmission, and automotive heating/AC.
  • Five years of automotive repair experience, proven through third‑party assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational‑technical school program.
  • ASE certification in at least three of A1–A8 (L1 can be one of the three – Brakes and Steering & Suspension). ASE certifications in A1–A5 are preferred.
