Operations Specialist TW

Responsibilities

• Ensure employees are performing safely with equipment and machinery
• Work on scheduled assignments and work overtime (when needed)
• Plan layout of warehouse and storage areas while taking into consideration turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored
• Review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and determine adequacy of stock levels
• Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies
• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow
• Issue written and oral instructions
• Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures
• Create and maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances
• Investigate and correct errors

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to three years of related industry experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience operating saws to cut metal (preferred)
• Experience operating a forklift or side loader (preferred)
• Working knowledge of:
  Deburring;
  Packing;
  Export;
  Receiving;
  Shipping; PVC M/C;
  Chop Saw;
  Band Saw;
  Plate Saw;
  Shear M/C;
  Waterjet;
  Laser M/C (preferred)

• Possess effective communication skills which include verbal and written
• Must have experience with Microsoft Office
• Willingness to learn the mainframe program (Metalware)
• TW has various shifts; therefore, the start times will vary. The successful candidate must be flexible and be willing to work overtime hours as needed
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
