Job Description
We’re seeking a Part‑time Laboratory Technician to join our Materials team in Burlington, New Jersey
. In this hands‑on role, you’ll support construction and infrastructure projects by performing laboratory testing on materials that directly impact public safety and project quality. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to contribute to meaningful projects in their local community.

- Perform laboratory testing on construction materials including soils, concrete, masonry, asphalt, and fireproofing in accordance with established procedures and quality standards
- Prepare, label, handle and document material samples to ensure accurate testing, traceability, and reporting
- Pick up samples from construction sites and safely transport them to the laboratory; deliver testing equipment and materials to field technicians as needed
- Operate basic laboratory tools and equipment while following Atlas safety policies and laboratory‑specific protocols at all times
- Review project directions, maps, and testing instructions to ensure materials are tested correctly and on schedule
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe laboratory environment, supporting efficient daily operations
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with an interest in hands‑on, practical work
- 0–2 years of experience in a laboratory, construction, materials testing, or similar environment (training and support provided)
- A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation, with comfort traveling to local job sites
- The physical ability to lift, carry, stand, bend, and work on your feet for extended periods, both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and communication
- A strong attention to detail, a willingness to follow procedures, and a safety‑first mindset

- Employment Type:
Part‑time - Compensation: $18.00 hourly rate
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
