Intertek is actively seeking an entry‑level Technician to join our Building & Construction team in our Cliffwood, NJ office.

The Technician will support the Building and Construction business by performing scheduled field tasks at construction sites under the direction of other technicians or engineering professionals. Entry‑level candidates will be trained by Senior Field Technicians on all tasks.

The base wage for this position is $20 p/h – $30 p/h, with compensation based on skills, experience and qualifications. Competitive benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous paid vacation/sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.

• Perform or assist with scheduled daily field/office tasks with other team members
• Perform a variety of inspections and tests based on project specifics
• Neatly and accurately complete all required paperwork, including daily reports, test reports and timesheets – in a timely manner
• Perform maintenance/cleaning of equipment as needed
• Adhere to construction site safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment
• Other tasks as needed or assigned

• High school diploma or GED
• No experience required – you will be trained by Senior Field Technicians
• Certifications with ACI, ICC, NJDCA are a plus
• Interest in learning the Building and Construction Industry
• Comfortable using MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)
• Must be punctual, reliable with good attention to detail and communication skills
• Able to work with others in a cohesive manner and follow direction
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, crawl, push and pull, stretch, sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time during all types of weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required)
