Your New Role
  • Prepare detailed project estimates using landscape, civil, and architectural plans

  • Perform quantity takeoffs and verify project information as needed

  • Develop pricing for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and project logistics

  • Use Sage Estimating and digital takeoff software such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Plan Swift, or similar platforms

  • Request and evaluate vendor pricing and subcontractor proposals

  • Coordinate procurement planning and material buyouts

  • Identify scope gaps, project risks, exclusions, and long-lead materials

  • Support value engineering efforts and change order pricing

  • Maintain estimating records, pricing databases, templates, and documentation

  • Work closely with design, sales, procurement, and production teams to support successful project delivery

  • Assist with job costing and continuous improvement of estimating processes

  • 5 to 7 or more years of estimating experience in landscape construction, sitework, or a related construction trade

  • Experience estimating residential or commercial construction projects

  • High-end residential landscape construction experience is preferred

  • Experience with digital estimating and quantity takeoff workflows

  • Proficiency with Sage Estimating is preferred

  • Experience using Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Plan Swift, or similar software is preferred

  • Familiarity with Sage 300 CRE is a plus

  • Ability to read and interpret landscape, civil, and architectural plans and specifications

  • Experience preparing detailed quantity takeoffs, project budgets, and procurement plans

  • Knowledge of landscape construction methods, sequencing, and material procurement

  • Understanding of hardscape, planting, grading, irrigation, drainage, lighting, trucking, and specialty subcontractor scopes

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines effectively

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with solid time management and documentation skills

  • Ability to visit project sites when necessary

  • Reliable daily commute to the Far Hills, New Jersey office
