Project Engineer, Civil Engineering

Position

Purpose:

The Project Engineersupportsthe Project Managerincoordinatingthetechnical ,administrative,andfield-relatedrequirementsofABI’sconcreteandpublicinfrastructureprojects.

Thispositionassistswithprojectdocumentation,material procurement,subcontractor coordination,scheduling,cost tracking,change management,andcloseoutactivitiestohelpensureprojectsarecompletedsafely,onschedule,within budget,andinaccordancewithcontractrequirements.

The Project Engineerservesasanimportantlinkbetweenthefieldandofficeandhelpsmaintaineffectiverelationshipswithclients ,general contractors,subcontractors,suppliers,engineers,inspectors,public agencies,andotherprojectstakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Project Managerwiththeday -to-daycoordinationandadministrationofassignedprojects.
• Serveasapointofcontactforclients,general contractors,subcontractors,suppliers,engineers,inspectors,andotherprojectstakeholdersregardingadministrativeandtechnicalprojectmatters.
• Assistwithrequestsforinformation,submittals,scope clarifications,scheduling questions,field coordination,andotherprojectcorrespondence.
• Maintainclearandtimelycommunicationbetweenthe Project Manager ,field supervision,projectownerorgeneralcontractor,andinternalsupportfunctions.
Attendprojectmeetings,documentactionitems,andfollowthroughonassignedresponsibilities.
• CoordinatewiththeclientorgeneralcontractortoconfirmthatupcomingworkareasareavailableandreadyforABI’screws.

• Reviewandunderstandprojectplans,specifications,addenda,geotechnicalreports,contracts,schedules,andotherprojectdocumentation.
• Maintaincurrentplans,specifications,sketches,RFIs,submittals,andotherprojectdocumentssothatfieldandofficepersonnelareworkingfromthemostcurrentinformation.
• Communicateplanrevisions,scope changes,andupdateprojectrequirementstothe

  Managerandfieldsupervision.
• Prepareplantakeoffs,quantity calculations,andsupportdocumentationformaterialprocurement,production planning,andchangemanagement.
• Assistinmaintainingaccuratefieldrecords,schedules,as-built information,photographs,andotherdocumentationrequiredtosupportprojectexecutionandcloseout.

• Prepare,submit,distribute,andtrackRFIs,product data,mix designs,shop drawings,samples,andotherrequiredsubmittalsthroughfinalapproval.
• Reviewsubmittalsandshopdrawingsforgeneralconformancewithcontractdocumentsbeforeforwardingthemforapproval.
• MonitoroutstandingRFIsandsubmittalsandfollowupasnecessarytopreventprojectdelays.
• Distributeapprovedsubmittalsandrelatedinformationtothe Project Manager ,field supervision,suppliers,andotherappropriateparties.

• Assistwithpurchasingandreleasingmaterialsforproductionanddeliveryinaccordancewithprojectplans,specifications,schedules,andcontractrequirements.
• Obtainandevaluatematerialandsubcontractorquotations,preparebidorpurchasecomparisoninformation,andmakerecommendationstothe

• Compilesubcontractorbidpackagesandassistwiththepreparationandadministrationofsubcontractsandpurchaseorders.
• Orderandtrackmaterialstohelpensuredeliveriessupporttheprojectscheduleandfieldproductionrequirements.
• Coordinatewithsuppliersregardingapprovedmaterials,fabrication schedules,delivery requirements,andrequireddocumentation.

• Maintainaregularpresenceinthefieldtounderstandprojectconditions,observe progress,andsupportcoordinationbetweenfieldandofficepersonnel.
• Trackcrewactivities,quantities installed,production progress,material usage,andfieldconditionstosupportaccurateschedules,cost reporting,andas-built documentation.
• Collaboratewiththe Project Managerandfieldsupervisiononshort -termplanningandoverallprojectschedules.
