We cover the economy and global stock markets with the consumer and retail investors in mind, but also focus on coverage for institutional investors, corporate executives and government officials. In addition to our cable programming, CNBC also delivers news and information through ,  and CNBC Plus.

Our options producer will be based in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. The successful candidate will help cover the options market, produce breaking news content and help cover trends in the options market. You will also set-up, book and pre-interview key news makers and market participants for live television interviews. The successful candidate will also write stories for CNBC’s digital coverage teams, suggest storylines and keep in close contact with traders while keeping a close watch on the data and market moving action from the Cboe.

• Work both independently and with a reporter and our digital team to produce original business news content.
• Production responsibilities may include research, conducting interviews, writing and reporting on the options market.
• Pitching story ideas and working on assigned stories developed by the editorial planning team.
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with traders, investors and executives at the Cboe and in the options business overall.
• Communicating clearly with producers in Englewood Cliffs.
• Reporting and producing for both TV and CNBC digital.
• Writing stories for both TV and CNBC digital.
• Taking ownership of the segment from pitch to production, including but not limited to: updating CNBC guest tracker, booking feeds, collecting relevant video, working with editors to cut elements for segment, summarizing pre interview for reporter or anchor, making certain of correct spelling and pronunciation of guest names and adhering to CNBC's booking policies.
• Planning and contributing to digital and social coverage when needed.
• Keeping up-to-date on universe of coverage, flagging upcoming events in designated sectors to CNBC editorial planning team.

What you’ll bring:

• At least 2 years reporting in a live television environment and/or reporting for a digital business news outlet. Experience covering the options market.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments, while working with multiple producers and editors on the broadcast and digital teams.
• Experience with live reporting.
• Must be willing to travel, often with short notice.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

• Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in business news.

Hybrid:
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
