Position Overview

The Department of Performing Arts at Rider University seeks adjunct instructors of Musical Theatre for the fall semester beginning September 9, 2026. Applicants will be considered for various classes related to Dance, Voice, and Musical Theatre Directing.

Salary is $4,215.98 for a 3‑credit course. Please note that a full course is considered to have 9 students enrolled in the course. If a section is not full, 8 or fewer enrollees, the salary is prorated based on the number of students enrolled in the course.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • BA or BFA in musical theatre, theatre, voice, a related degree field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience directing, teaching, and/or performing in musicals, plays, or other performance genres.
  • Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Advanced or Terminal degree in musical theatre, theatre, voice, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Extensive experience at the national and international level.
  • Experience working with early‑career professionals in musical theatre.
  • Experience teaching in a university.
