Summary The Member Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact between members and the credit union. This role provides exceptional service in person and by phone, processes financial transactions, opens and services accounts, and supports lending activities. The position requires accuracy, regulatory compliance, and the ability to identify and recommend products and services that meet members’ financial needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service to members, focused on achieving five-star service quality
- Process all account-related transactions (i.e., deposits, withdrawals, check-cashing, ATM items, stop payments, wires etc.) with quality, accuracy, and proper verification.
- Balance cash drawers daily and resolve discrepancies in accordance with policy.
- Open and service consumer and business accounts; educate members on membership benefits and services that meet their financial needs.
- Promote and cross-sell credit union products and services that meet their needs (i.e., CDs, debit cards, electronic services, gift/reloadable cards, etc.). While ensuring optimal member satisfaction.
- Promote and process consumer loans, including personal, auto, overdraft, secured, and business loans.
- Provide basic mortgage information and submit applications through the Greater Alliance system.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of credit union policies, procedures, and regulations, including BSA, Patriot Act, and robbery procedures.
- Respond to member inquiries, complaints, and concerns; resolve issues or elevate as appropriate
- Approve member exceptions and authorize service fee refunds when necessary
- Assist with branch operations, including opening/closing, cross-branch support travel, and assist with buddy training (when applicable)
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Six months to two years of related experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED required Physical Requirements
- Standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time.
- Computer skills must be adequate in current computing standards.
- Able to lift at least 15 pounds.
