Job Description:
Assess and evaluate dental hygiene students' clinical skills during the following dental hygiene "process of care" procedures performed with their patients in the clinic:
Review of Medical/Dental History Extra/intraoral Exam (Oral Cancer Screening, Gingival Exam, Occlusal Exam, Hard-Tissue Charting, Periodontal Charting, etc…) Plaque Control Procedures Treatment Planning Scaling and Root Planing Selective Polishing Fluoride Treatments Radiographic Interpretation Observe and provide feedback to students during clinical proficiencies on all dental hygiene skills. Exhibit knowledge of current technology in the practice of dental hygiene. Consult with students, fellow instructors and patients as needed in the instructional process.
Demonstrate professionalism and follow all policies and procedures for the Dental Hygiene Program (Manual will be provided during training period). Attend and participate in calibration exercises/meetings for clinic instructors. Meet with Dental Programs Director and Clinic Supervisor to review program/department procedures. Observe dental hygiene clinical instructors during patient care to attain understanding of clinic and educational procedures. Follow accreditation guidelines and procedures as designated by the CODA and Dental Programs Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Current NJRDH (Active) License Teaching Methodology Courses
Published Salary Range: $43 per hour
