Jewelry Designer
Northern New Jersey (Hybrid/Flexible) | Full-Time
Our client, a growing leader in the fashion jewelry industry, is seeking a Jewelry Designer to join their team and play a key role in developing trend‑forward collections for some of the nation’s largest retail brands, including Walmart, Target, Macy’s, and JCPenney. This is an exciting opportunity to become the company’s first in‑house designer, helping shape the creative direction while collaborating closely with merchandising, product development, and global manufacturing partners.

- Design original fashion and costume jewelry collections from concept through production.
- Create sketches, technical drawings, and production‑ready specifications for overseas manufacturing partners.
- Develop commercially successful designs that balance trend, quality, cost, and manufacturability.
- Partner closely with merchandising and sales teams to create collections tailored to major retail customers.
- Review prototypes and samples, providing clear design feedback and revisions to factory partners.
- Research emerging trends, materials, colors, and competitive products to inspire new collections.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting seasonal deadlines.
- Maintain organized design files and artwork throughout the product development process.
- 4+ years of professional jewelry design experience.
- Strong portfolio showcasing commercial jewelry collections and creative design capabilities.
- Experience designing fashion or costume jewelry preferred; candidates from fine jewelry backgrounds with strong commercial design experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Understanding of jewelry construction, materials, plating, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience preparing production‑ready artwork and communicating with overseas factories.
- Strong sketching and concept development skills.
- Ability to design with production feasibility, quality, and cost targets in mind.
- Experience supporting mass‑market or major retail customers is a plus.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
