The University of Maryland Faculty Practice is seeking a full‑time faculty member with specialty training in Headache and Facial Pain Syndromes to join the Department of Neurology.
Responsibilities include evaluating, treating, and caring for patients with headache, migraine, and facial pain syndromes; performing procedures such as chemo denervation, nerve blocks, trigger point injections, and infusion protocols; participating in inpatient consultations; coordinating clinical trials related to headache; collaborating with behavioral health and integrative plan services; and assisting with the launch of a headache fellowship. The role also involves teaching medical students and residents.
SalaryFaculty Associate $260,000 to $300,000 annually; $25,000 signing bonus.
Education and Experience- Doctoral degree in Medicine in the area of specialty
- 3-5 years of clinical experience
- CPR required
- BLS required
- ACLS and/or other relevant certification as required by the department
- Board certification/eligibility in the area of specialty
- Demonstrated ability to promote professionalism through involvement in professional organizations, teaching, research, and/or publishing
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served, ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to population‑specific and age‑specific needs
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, patients’ families, departmental units, and medical and nursing staff on all essential matters
The base salary range reflects the low and high ends of the University of Maryland Faculty Physicians, Inc. salary range for this position.
