Position Overview
An outstanding opportunity is available for an experienced Physician Assistant seeking a long-term surgical assignment in New Jersey.
This 28-week locum assignment offers a consistent weekday schedule with no call responsibilities, allowing for an exceptional work-life balance while practicing within a respected multidisciplinary surgical program.
The Physician Assistant will primarily provide outpatient care for General Surgery, Surgical Oncology, and Endocrine Surgery patients while supporting limited inpatient responsibilities as needed.
Working alongside an experienced surgical team, this assignment offers excellent clinical collaboration, predictable hours, and the opportunity to practice in one of New Jersey's premier academic health systems.
Provider Compensation: $130/hour
Provider Pay Ranking: Top 10–15% of comparable Surgical PA locum assignments in New Jersey.
Assignment Highlights- 28-week assignment with potential extension
- Monday–Friday schedule
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- No nights
- No weekends
- No call
- No holiday coverage
- 90% outpatient practice

- Perform comprehensive surgical patient evaluations
- Conduct outpatient clinic visits
- Evaluate new consults
- Complete follow-up appointments
- Pre-operative assessments
- Post-operative evaluations
- Hospital rounding as assigned
- Surgical care coordination
- Assist with treatment planning
- Patient education
- Documentation within Epic EMR
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care
- Communicate with referring physicians
- Collaborate with nursing and ancillary staff
- Participate in quality patient care initiatives
- NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant
- Active New Jersey Physician Assistant License
- CDS Registration (if applicable)
- DEA Registration
- BLS Certification
- Previous General Surgery experience
- Oncology Surgery experience preferred
- Endocrine Surgery experience preferred
- Minimum one prior travel assignment preferred
- Strong outpatient surgical experience
- Comfortable practicing within an academic environment
