Position: SUPERVISORY YOUTH PROGRAMS SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Location: Fort Dix

Duties
* Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of a conventional but comprehensive Youth Program which stimulates and sustains the interest of children and to contribute to their social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development, ensuring that the program complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer's needs.
* Exercises supervisory management responsibilities.
* Administers activities and plans.
* Evaluates the effectiveness of planned social/recreational activities from the standpoint of participant's responses, available resources, unforeseen developments, marketing campaign, and program objectives. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Full/part-time employees occupying direct childcare positions are eligible for discounts IAW DAF AFSVC/CC Memo, 30 Sep 22; first child 100% / each additional child 25%. Other assigned CYP and FCC personnel are eligible for 25% discount.
* Must successfully complete additional training requirements including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and first aid.
* The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required for the position.
* May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours.
* This position has been identified as having "regular contact with children". In accordance with (IAW) Public Law 101-647 Section 231, Public Law 102-190, Section 1094. (cont'd) * (cont'd) A FBI fingerprint and State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) Check will be completed on any person selected for this position.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
* AFI. Physicals. Child and Youth Program personnel have a physical examination no later than 60 days after appointment. Physicals are updated every three years ensuring personnel are physically (Cont'd) * (Cont'd) and behaviorally capable of performing duties of the job. 10.14.1. Documentation of the most recent physical exam is kept in the employee or provider personnel file. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1701, General Education and Training Series.

BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Applicant has a degree that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position.

EDUCATION:

Applicant has taken courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter fi eld appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes professional knowledge of the theories, principles, and techniques of educations and training and of child growth and development. Direct involvement in Youth Center programs which maintains and improves the physical, social, and mental well-being of young children.

Knowledge of learning and recreational activities and services, of participants' interests and needs, and the methods and processes involved in Youth Center programming. Ability to effectively plan and conduct a variety of youth activities and services to meet specific needs of the base community. Skill in the effective management and utilization of the financial, physical, and human resources of a Youth Center program.

Ability to deal with youth, parents, paid staff, and volunteers in a skillful and tactful manner, and to possess the ability to communicate both orally and in writing. OR

EDUCATION:

Applicant has 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. Degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree appropriate to the position to be filled.
