Description:
Pascack Hills High School seeks a dynamic, knowledgeable, and student-centered Social Studies teacher for a tenure-track position beginning in the school year. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong content knowledge, effective instructional practices, and a commitment to fostering civic literacy, critical thinking, and historical inquiry in a diverse high school setting.
Anticipated Teaching Assignments May Include:
U.S. History, World History, Civics/Government, or other Social Studies courses aligned with New Jersey Student Learning Standards (specific assignments based on certification and district need).
Qualifications:
* Valid New Jersey certification in Social Studies (Standard or CEAS)
* Strong knowledge of secondary Social Studies curriculum and pedagogy
* Experience with inquiry-based instruction, primary source analysis, and disciplinary literacy preferred
* Ability to integrate technology and digital tools to enhance learning
* Commitment to collaboration within Professional Learning Communities
* Strong classroom management and communication skills
* Experience differentiating instruction for diverse learners, including ELL and special education students, preferred
