ANTICIPATED POSITION FOR SY School Business Administrator/Board Secretary
The Kenilworth School District in Union County, New Jersey, is seeking an exceptional individual to maintain fiscal responsibility and stable governance in its schools. Kenilworth is a Prek-12 district of approximately 1450 students in three schools supported by a $37M annual school budget. We employ a staff of 180 certified and 52 non‑certified professionals with 12 administrators.
Position Available:

- Valid NJDOE School Business Administrator Certification or Certificate of Eligibility.
- Valid NJDOE School Safety Specialist Certificate, desired.
- Valid Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) Certification in progress, and/or maintained.
- Strong background as a School Business Administrator/Board Secretary with an understanding of the principles and practices of financial accounting and reporting procedures consistent with statute, code, and GAAP requirements.
- A proven record of success in district budgeting and fiscal management.
- Previous successful experience in school planning, construction, and facilities operations.
- Ability to lead and collaborate in a complex school environment.
- Knowledge of benefits administration, labor relations, transportation, security and safety, risk management, insurance coverage, and food services.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
- Current residency in New Jersey, approved residency waiver, or the candidate agrees to obtain residency in New Jersey within one year of employment.

Key Responsibilities- Serve as Board Secretary to the Board of Education
- Collaborate with the Superintendent and district leadership on district goals, efficiency, and financial resources, including:
- Staffing, technology inventory, and outsourced special education services
- Oversee and lead the district's Business Office, including:
- Budget development and long‑range fiscal planning
- Payroll, benefits administration, and labor relations
- Risk management and insurance
- Transportation, maintenance/custodial services, and food service operations
- Security and safety operations
12‑month position. Competitive annual salary and benefits package within State guidelines. Salary range starting at $150,000 based on experience; additional terms as stated below.
- The employee is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick and personal leave accruals (pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement), and enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) or the Public Employees' Retirement System.
- The position is eligible for additional compensation in the form of stipends or tuition reimbursement based on district policy.
