- New Jersey Teaching certificate or County Substitute certificate.
- Must authorize in writing a criminal background investigation.
- Must submit to and pass a Mantoux intradermal tuberculin test per N.J.A.C. 6:29‑2.3.
- Course in Sports First Aid (for those with no prior NJ high school coaching experience before September 2006) – to be completed within one year of hire.
- Course in Principles of Coaching (same criteria) – to be completed within one year of hire.
- Certificate of completion of a class in CPR.
Salary follows the established HEA Coaches Guide ranging from $3,544.00 to $4,456.00. This position does not qualify for benefits.
