- D) are eligible. Complete one Applitrack application to apply for all five scholarships.

- The Sunrise Optimist Club of Freehold Peter J. Saker, Sr. Memorial Scholarship: $1,000
- The Sunrise Optimist Club of Freehold Joseph Salkin Memorial Scholarship: $1,000
- The Sunrise Optimist Club of Freehold Special Recognition Scholarship: $1,000
- Additional requirements for this scholarship:
Student must be attending an accredited trade school. - The Sunrise Optimist Club of Freehold Ryan Paul Cadotte Memorial Scholarship: $1,000 (FTHS & MNHS Students Only)
- Additional requirements for this scholarship:
- Student must be attending a four‑year college and majoring in a STEM program.
- Student must be attending Freehold Township or Manalapan High School.
The student must be a senior in good standing at an accredited high school within the Freehold Regional High School District (or a private high school located within the same geography), with a confirmed acceptance and declared intention to enroll in an accredited two‑ or four‑year college.
- An application must be completed on Applitrack and include general background information.
- The student must prepare an original essay one to three pages in length; this work must be solely the work of the author. The essay should describe community service activities, goals, scholastic achievements, and why the student should be considered for this scholarship.
- Students may submit up to three letters of reference in support of their application and essay.
- All applications submitted on Applitrack will be screened by the scholarship committee. A decision will be rendered prior to preparation and printing of graduation commencement materials.
The scholarship committee will consider students based on the application, essay and letters of reference if applicable. Criteria include motivation, school accomplishments, career goals, financial needs, outside school activities, community service, and part‑time employment. The committee seeks a well‑rounded student with good character traits active in community service, in line with the principles of Optimist International.
AwardsWinners will be announced prior to graduation. Winners are invited to a Sunrise Optimist Club awards meeting breakfast, where scholarship checks will be presented. Each student may introduce themselves to club members. Confirmation of college enrollment will be required at that time.
ApplicationsOnly one application is required for consideration for any of the five scholarships offered.
