Administrative Opening Interim Middle School Principal Clinton Township Middle School

Clinton Township School District seeks a dynamic, student-centered Interim Middle School Principal serving grades 6-8 to provide school-wide leadership, establishing an instructional vision focused on improving student achievement, monitoring and supervising instruction, supporting teachers in improving instructional practice, and ensuring the effective operation of the school through supporting staff and student.

Qualifications
  • Valid NJ Principal Certificate or eligibility.
  • Minimum experience as determined by the board.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills in curriculum development, program & staff evaluation, staff development, budgeting, academic growth, school improvement, and technology.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status.
Performance Responsibilities Instructional Leadership and School Management
  • Assumes responsibility for the operation and management of the school in accordance with law, administrative code, board policies and regulations.
  • Exercises leadership in school-level planning for improvement of instruction aligned with goals and measurable student outcomes.
  • Establishes and maintains a school climate that promotes high expectations, student engagement, and a culture for learning.
  • Uses multiple data sources to guide decision-making and continuous school improvement.
  • Maintains consistent communication with the superintendent regarding school operations, progress, and needs.
Curriculum and Instruction, and Assessment
  • Oversees the implementation of district curriculum and ensures alignment with state standards.
  • Monitors delivery of instruction to ensure rigor, engagement, and differentiation for all learners.
  • Participates in the development, evaluation, and revision of curriculum and assumes responsibility for the implementation of approved programs, inclusive of the integration of technology.
  • Oversees and/or supervises all curricular and extracurricular activities to ensure they support student development.
Staff Supervision Evaluation, and Development
  • Interviews, recommends for appointment, assigns, supervises, and evaluates the performance of all school employees (teachers, support staff) and assists them in achievement of their job goals.
  • Conducts observations and evaluations of teaching staff and prepares written comments; offers constructive suggestions for implementation.
  • Provides timely, specific feedback to improve professional practice and student outcomes.
  • Facilitates professional learning aligned to school and district priorities.
  • Conducts faculty meetings and fosters a collaborative professional culture.
Operations, Safety, and Resource Management
  • Prepares and submits the school's budget requests in line with district priorities and monitors the expenditure of funds.
  • Establishes and maintains an efficient office system to support the administrative functions of the school.
  • Ensures the safekeeping of student and personnel files and other confidential records and documents; along with the destruction of public records in accordance with law and regulations.
  • Reports incidents of violence, vandalism, and substance abuse; works cooperatively with law enforcement authorities in maintaining a safe and drug‑free school environment.
  • Ensures removal of students in possession of verified weapons from the general education program and provides notification as required by law and administrative code.
  • Prepares or supervises the preparation of all reports, records and other paperwork required or appropriate to the school's administration.
  • Develops and maintains a master schedule for academic, extracurricular programs and works cooperatively with the business office to schedule community use of the school building and grounds.
