QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must possess New Jersey Department of Education Standard Teaching Certificate, CEAS Certificate, CE Certificate OR Substitute Certificate that is valid i the state of New Jersey. Substitute Certificate must be current and renewed prior to expiration.

2. Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities.

3. Ability to maintain a positive learning environment

4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills

5. Satisfactory health status

6. Reliable transportation

7. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residentalien status

8. Such alternatives to the above as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable

JOB GOAL:

A Substitute teacher is an important member of the Waterford Township School District team when called to serve in our schools.

Substitute teachers provide an approved educational program and establish a class environment that fosters learning and

personal growth, while following the regular classroom teacher's plans and responsibilities as closely as possible throughout

the school day, as well as providing adequate student supervision and classroom management.
