Position OverviewConcorde Education is seeking an engaging English Tutor to support students in grades K–12 (grade band varies by assignment). Tutors help students strengthen reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and communication skills through structured, supportive sessions aligned with school goals.
Sessions emphasize clear skill development, confidence-building, and strong learning habits. Tutors typically lead weekly sessions across a 10-week program cycle, adapting instruction based on student needs and site logistics.

- Foundational reading skills (phonics, decoding, fluency)
- Reading comprehension strategies (main idea, inference, evidence)
- Vocabulary development and academic language
- Grammar, sentence structure, and writing mechanics
- Paragraph organization and essay writing
- Revising and editing written work
- Academic discussion and communication skills
- Study strategies and test preparation
- Organizational and learning habits
- Provide tutoring and academic support for small and mid-sized student groups
- Lead structured sessions including modeling, guided practice, and independent work
- Create a supportive learning environment that builds student confidence and engagement
- Monitor student progress through informal skill checks and observation
- Communicate professionally with school staff and Concorde program coordinators
- Adapt instruction based on student progress and site feedback
- Minimum 60 college credits (Associate degree or in progress acceptable)
- Strong English Language Arts skills appropriate to the assigned grade band
- Experience working with school-age students (teaching, tutoring, camps, after-school programs, etc.)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently
- Reliable, organized, and professional
- Comfortable supporting learners with varied learning levels
