Employment Term: 10-month position (Tenure Track); salary and benefits in accordance with the negotiated agreement between the Board of Education and the Bordentown Regional Education Association (BREA)

Position Summary
The Bordentown Regional School District seeks a dedicated and collaborative Elementary Special Education Teacher to provide specially designed instruction to students with disabilities across the least restrictive environment continuum. Depending on building need, the successful candidate may serve in an in-class resource (ICR)/co-teaching, resource, or self-contained setting. The teacher will develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in full compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and N.J.A.C. 6A:14, and will partner closely with general education teachers, related-service providers, and the Child Study Team to ensure student success.
Essential Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and adapt specially designed instruction aligned to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities.
* Develop, implement, monitor, and revise IEPs in accordance with IDEA and N.J.A.C. 6A:14, including measurable goals, progress monitoring, and data collection.
* Collaborate with general education teachers in integrated co-teaching/ICR settings, sharing responsibility for planning, instruction, and assessment.
* Implement accommodations, modifications, and supplementary aids and services as specified in student IEPs.
* Conduct ongoing assessment and progress monitoring; analyze data to inform instruction and report student growth to families and the IEP team.
* Participate as an active member of IEP meetings and collaborate with the Child Study Team, related-service providers, and administrators.
* Establish a structured, supportive classroom environment and implement positive behavior supports and individualized behavior plans as appropriate.
* Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress, programming, and concerns.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district timelines and reporting requirements.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or designee.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (master's degree preferred).
* Valid New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities endorsement (CE, CEAS, or Standard), together with an appropriate New Jersey instructional certificate (e.g., Elementary School Teacher in Grades K6 / Preschool through Grade
3), or eligibility for same.
* Knowledge of IDEA, N.J.A.C. 6A:14, and the IEP development and implementation process.
* Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and to collaborate effectively in co-teaching and team settings.
* Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
* Commitment to equity, inclusion, and high expectations for all learners.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience teaching in elementary ICR/co-teaching, resource, or self-contained programs.
* Familiarity with multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS), and data-based decision making.
* Experience with assistive technology and evidence-based intervention programs.
