Saddle River Day School, a close community of learners, is looking for a full-time Lower School Teaching Assistant to join our Lower School team for the school year. The position would work with students in first through fourth grades.

We are seeking a team member who possesses a growth mindset and who can form dynamic relationships with students as well as colleagues based on positivity and collegiality.
Responsibilities- Work closely with the lead classroom teacher and members of the Lower School team to support the emotional, physical, and academic growth of young learners in first though fourth grade
- Assist lead teachers with daily classroom routines, classroom management and lesson implementation
- Support students during whole-group, small-group, and individual activities
- Help foster a warm, inclusive classroom community where each child feels valued and known
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, transitions, rest time, and other daily activities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, Special Area teachers, and specialists to support the needs of all learners
- Communicate professionally and positively with colleagues and families, as appropriate
- Remain flexible and responsive to the changing needs of young children and the school day
- Hold a Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate, or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field
- Have experience working with children in an elementary school setting (other relevant experiences will be considered)
- Salary Range: $30,000 to $32,000 (final compensation will be determined based on experience and education)
