Sociology Part‑Time Teaching Fall 26 Positions
This position is for short‑term teaching of undergraduate sociology courses at Rutgers University in the Sam Shapiro College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Sociology. Eligible applicants will teach courses as assigned each semester, preparing the syllabus, delivering lectures, leading discussions, assessing student work, holding office hours, responding to student emails, and submitting final grades to the registrar. The position requires in‑person instruction only.
Responsibilities• Prepare course syllabus and instructional materials.
• Deliver lectures and lead classroom discussions.
• Design and evaluate assignments and exams.
• Provide timely grading and constructive feedback.
• Hold weekly office hours and respond to student emails.
• Submit final course grades to the registrar.
• Master’s degree in Sociology or related field (required).
• Ph.D. in Sociology or related field preferred.
• Previous undergraduate teaching experience preferred.
Salary: A minimum of $2,777 per credit (Minimum $8,331 for a 3‑credit course). Final salary will depend on qualifications, experience, and funding availability.
