Saddle River Day School is seeking a full-time History and Economics teacher for the school year. This position will teach Upper School classes and serve as an advisor to a small group of students.
Responsibilities- Teach 5 sections of History and/or Economics courses
- Serve as an advisor to a group of students, providing guidance and support in their academic and personal development
- Participate actively in the life of the school community beyond the classroom, including contributing to extracurricular programs, events, and committees
- Demonstrate a passion for history, economics, current events, student success, and real-world learning
- Effectively be able to manage a classroom and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to design and implement a student-centered curriculum
- Connect and work with families to ensure student success
- Foster a student-centered environment which encourages intellectual risk-taking and innovation
- Incorporate current educational trends and meaningful technology into classroom pedagogy
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in History, Economics, or a related subject (advanced degree preferred)
- Have experience teaching history or economics courses, preferable at the high school level (other relevant experience will be considered)
- Salary Range: $60,000 to $85,000 (final compensation will be determined based on experience and education)
