Job DescriptionStuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Princeton, New Jersey, an independent, Catholic all-girls PS-12 Sacred Heart School is searching for a part-time Lower School Counselor. The job entails supporting our Early School - 6th grade students and aiding in their psychological care and development as well as teaching the 5th and 6th grade class. The Counselor serves as a resource to faculty, administration, and families and guides the school in making decisions about the social-emotional health and well-being of the student body.

The school seeks candidates who can:

- Develop and deliver the school counseling curriculum through appropriate courses within the ES, LS and MS (grades 5–6) divisions.
- Assist and support students in the areas of emotional and social development.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents to better understand and meet the needs of all students.
- Provide individual and small group counseling in response to identified needs.
- Make appropriate referrals of students and parents to outside agencies and specialists when necessary.
- Be visible in school by participating in a variety of activities that allow for the development of trust and relationships with students.
- Educate and support parents in their raising of self‑aware and confident young women by hosting parent education events and communicating articles and critical information.
- Work in partnership with other members of the Counseling Department, Cor Cordis team, Office of Mission & Ministry, and other student support staff.
- The successful candidate will have experience supporting girls' mental health and wellness in a school setting.
- Experience working in an all‑girls school, or experience in independent schools a plus.
- The successful candidate will have an appropriate advanced mental health degree and licensure.
- This position is part‑time and reports to the Head of Mission & Ministry.
