DESCRIPTIONSpeech and Language Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:Provide daily service to students in accordance with Board approved curriculum, policies and practices. Openings exist for speech therapists at the elementary and secondary levels. Responsibilities include providing speech therapy services for students with disabilities from a wide range of educational settings, including, but not limited to, self-contained classes and the District Autism program. Responsibilities also include completing speech and language evaluations and participating in IEP meetings.
Positions are full-time, 10-months, and tenure track; there are additional opportunities for summer work.
- Appropriate New Jersey Certification required:
New Jersey Speech Language Specialist Certification. Speech therapists who need to complete the clinical fellowship year (CFY) can apply and will be considered. - Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act
- Successful Criminal History Clearance
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization
10 - Month Contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable and collective negotiations agreement.
COMPENSATIONIn accordance with the provisions of the BOE/FTEA collective bargaining agreement, the salary range for this position in the 26/27 School Year is Step 1 BA/BS ($68,023) - Step 18 PhD/EdD ($99,380). Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.

Performance is reviewed annually in accordance with NJ State law and the provisions of the Board of Education policy on evaluations for certificated staff.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLSAbility to be proficient in computer applications pertinent to support the position, including but not limited Google Suite, IEP software program and Genesis Employee Portal and Student Information System.
