QUALIFICATIONS

A current and valid New Jersey Substitute Certificate or New Jersey Teaching Certificate.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.

Enjoy working with adolescents; must be child friendly.

Successfully undergo a criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Meet the health qualifications required of all personnel.

Meet NJ residency requirements or willingness to relocate to NJ within 365 days of employment.

Must follow the guidelines of the Camden County Policy, File Code: 0142.1.

SALARY

Substitute Teacher: $120 per day (or $125 per day after attending orientation at CCTS). Not to exceed 29 hours per week, no benefits.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow information provided from the district through the Substitute Handbook.

Monitor the hall before, after and between class periods where appropriate.

Take accurate roll for both school attendance and classroom attendance.

Follow teacher's plans as closely as possible; supplement activities when necessary.

Interact with students—monitoring their activities and classroom behavior.

Maintain a relationship with the class conducive to learning.

Enforce safety habits, rules and regulations.

Be punctual and dependable (report by time designated in Substitute Handbook).

Abide by board policy, administrative regulations and directives, local, state and federal laws.

Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
