Qualifications:

60 college credits or a passing score on the Para Pro Exam required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

(Some or all of the following duties and responsibilities may apply) Under supervision of a certified teacher, prepare for classroom activities. Assist students in completing classroom assignments and projects. Assure student understanding of classroom rules and procedures and assist students by answering questions, providing proper examples, emotional support, friendly attitude and general guidance. Assist teachers with the implementation of lesson plans.

Work with individual or small groups of students, reinforcing instruction as directed by the teacher. Assist with personal care needs of students (e.g. toileting, hygiene, etc.). Assist students with mobility and access to materials. Closely supervise students throughout the school building and on the playground. Assist in maintaining a neat, orderly and enriched learning environment. Monitor student activities and student behavior.

Assist in implementation and monitoring of behavior plans. Maintain a safe and positive learning environment. Participate in daily activities, training sessions. Dispose of waste materials, food and toys to maintain the hygiene and health of students and staff. Understand and carry out oral and written directions. Participate in inservice training, conferences or formal classes related to assignment. Show initiative when working with children.

Maintain cooperative, effective relationships. Maintain confidentiality of student records. Assist in additional duties as assigned by administration.

Physical Requirements:

Sitting, standing, reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, must be able to see and hear the entire classroom. Salary: $21.49 - $24.46 hourly rate. Benefits:
