Location: Basking Ridge
Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Kindergarten Leave Replacement from September 1, 2026, to November 22, 2026. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and academic growth. This temporary position requires a passion for early childhood education and the ability to engage with students, parents, and staff effectively.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote holistic development.
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and a love for learning.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help each child reach their full potential.
* Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, maintaining open communication regarding student development and classroom activities.
* Collaborate with special education staff and other professionals to support the diverse needs of all students.
* Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting respectful interactions and conflict resolution skills among students.
* Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as needed.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment that adheres to health and safety regulations.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
* Valid teaching certification or license in Early Childhood Education.
* Previous experience working with young children in an educational setting preferred.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
* Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with parents and the community.
* Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for teaching young children.
* CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain prior to start date.
